After compliments, With reference to my letter No. 0/110, dated the 17th April 1935, which I gave you yesterday, and our conversation on the subject. 2. I made the following proposal: that disputes between British subjects, British protected subjects and the subjects of non-Moslem Foreign Powers should be settled by the nearest officer of the High British Government, i.e. the Political Agent, Bahrain, or his representative 3. I further suggested that the disputes between British subjects, British protected subjects, and the subjects of non Moslem Foreign Powers, and your subjects or the subjects of Moslem Foreign Powers should be dealt with by a Joint Court on which you and the Political Agent, Bahrain, will sit, or on which your representative and the representative of the Political Agent, Bahrain, will sit. 4 Should you agree to the above proposal I will inform the High British Government accordingly.
