C/114 of 1935.

Shaikh Abdullah bin Qasim al Thani, C.I.E.,

Ruler of Qatar.

After compliments,

With reference to my letter No. 0/110, dated the 17th April 1935,
which I gave you yesterday, and our conversation on the subject.
2. I made the following proposal: that disputes between British
subjects, British protected subjects and the subjects of non-Moslem

Foreign Powers should be settled by the nearest officer of the

High British Government, i.e. the Political Agent, Bahrain, or his

representative

3. I further suggested that the disputes between British subjects,
British protected subjects, and the subjects of non Moslem Foreign
Powers, and your subjects or the subjects of Moslem Foreign Powers
should be dealt with by a Joint Court on which you and the Political

Agent, Bahrain, will sit, or on which your representative and the

representative of the Political Agent, Bahrain, will sit.

4

Should you agree to the above proposal I will inform the High

British Government accordingly.

Usual ending,
