Ma'arion:

A settlement of Persians and mixed tribescomprising about 20 houses in all.Situated on the spit opposite Ras alKhaimah at the entrance to Ras al Khaimahcreek.

Rams:

A village on the coast about 2 miles NorthEast of Ras al Khaimah town. It has about400 houses of Tunaij inhabitants. Thereare no palm trees in Rams itself but theinhabitants cultivate those (about 1,300)at Dhayah.

Dhayah:

A belt of palm groves stretching betweenthe mountains and Rams creek, directly tothe East of Rams. Virtually uninhabited inwinter, in summer it is settled by theinhabitants of Rams who gather the dateharvest from the 1,300 trees, and by visitorsfrom Dubai.

Umm al Qaisha:

Three groves of palms, totalling 200, lyingtwo miles to the North of Dhayah andcultivated by the Beni Shai tair section ofthe Shihuh.

Al Qaisha:

A Beni Shaitair village in the mountainsbehind Umm al Qaisha, numbering 85 souls.

Ahl al Ghabib:

A Beni Shaitair village of 35 souls in theWadi Ghalila district.

Ebnu Bakhit:

A small Beni Shaitair village (45 souls) inthe Wadi Ghalila district.

Ahl Rahbah:

A village of 45 of the Beni Shaitair in theWadi Ghalila area.

Mahabib:

A village of 80 Beni Shaitair in the WadiGhalila, most probably on its northern side.

Al Nakhir:
R.A.K.

A settlement of Beni Shaitair in the WadiGhalila district.

Khor Kuwair:

A village of 30 houses of the Shihuh of theBeni Shaitair section with about 1,700 palmson the coast between Rams and Ghalila.

Ghalila:

A village of 50 mud, and stone houses ofthe Ayal Sa'ad section of the Beni Shaitairwith about 4,000 palm trees, situated tothe south of Shaam.

Sunum:
R.A.K.

A hamlet of Beni Shaitair situated on thecoast between Sha'am and Ghalila. Thereare about 150 date palms.

Sha'am:
R.A.K.

A large village of 300 houses, the greatmajority of the inhabitants being Shihuh ofthe Beni Shaitair section, though there area few Beni Hadiyah. The most northerlylarge village of the Ras al Khaimah district.lying on the coast, it has some 7,000 datepalms.

Qir:
R.A.K.

A northern "suburb" of Sha'am consisting ofabout 30 houses of Beni Hadiyah with aminority of Beni Shaitair.

Dara
