, You wrote to Michael Palliser on October 31 setting out the Foreign Secretary's proposals about State Visits for 1967, namely:
(i) from King Feisal of Saudi Arabia
in May, and
(ii) from President Sunay of Turkey in
the autumn.
The Prime Minister agrees to the Foreign Secretary's proposals for State Visits for 1967.
You will, I think, be interested to know that when he read these papers the Prime Minister commented that he hoped that these visits would not prejudice either a State or Private Visit from the President of the United States. I have told the Prime Minister that there is no question of these State Visits prejudicing a visit (either State or Private) from the President of the United States if he were able to come to Britain in 1967.
