Addressed to Foreign Office telegram No. 356 of April 8.
Repeated for information to Bahrain

Following for News Department. 37
Bahrain telegram No. 383 to you: Oman Publicity.

Wright of the Daily Telegraph here has deduced that, as a
result of the Muti incident, intensive operations are imminent
in Oman. He has asked H.Q. MEAF whether they are holding
aircraft ready for action in Oman and has been given a
negative reply.

2. You should know that, in fact, two Hastings went
off during the weekend carrying Signals personnel for various
posts in the Gulf. H.Q. MEAF think that Wright may have
got wind of these movements and, if pressed, will represent
them as routine.

Foreign Office please pass to Bahrain.
