ARABS STUDY BOYCOTT OF BRITAIN
The Syrian Chamber of Deputies has formed a special committee
to study a proposal for economic, political and cultural boycott of
Britain. This move came in response to Britain's aggression in the
Buraimi Oasis.

AL-GUMHURIYYA ANALYSES U. S. ATTITUDE TOWARD MIDDLE EAST PEACE
Writing on the U. S. attitude toward peace in the Middle East,
the semi-official Egyptian newspaper Al-Gumhuriyya states:
When Sir Anthony Eden proposed that efforts be made for achieving
peace in the Middle East, he took a practical step, suggesting that
settlement be made on the basis of the 1947 U. N. resolution on
Palestine, The Americans simply supported Eden without making refer ence to the U. N. resolutions and without making any alternative
proposal.
Official circles in the U. S. must realize that the Palestine
problem cannot be dealt with by supporting the Zionist point of view.
It can be settled easily by observing the principles of justice,

TAPLINE TALKS
The Syrian Finance and Economy Ministers have completed their
preparations for talks with Tapline Company regarding an agreement
similar to the one recently concluded between Syria and the Iraq
Petroleum Company,
Dr. 'Abd al-Wahhab Hawmad, Syrian Finance Minister, says that the
talks will start next week at Syria's request,
