Sir,

I am commanded by My Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty to transmit a copy of a letter from the Commander-in-Chief, Eastern Fleet, together with a copy of a letter from the Senior Naval Officer, Persian Gulf, forwarded therewith, concerning a proposal that a naval sword be presented by the Naval Officer-in-Charge, Bahrein, to His Highness The Sheikh, Sir Salman Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifah, K.C.I.E., and to request that the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs will furnish to Their Lordships any observations on the proposal which he may desire to offer.

A similar letter is being addressed to the India Office.
