Your Highness,
After Greetings:
The Company has the honour to refer to Your Highness's
letter dated 3 December 1962, receipt of which was acknowledged
by the Company's letter MISC. CON-716 dated 10 December 1962.
The Company has carefully studied the possibility of
relinquishing its rights under the Mining Lease dated
29 December 1934, as amended by the Deed of Further
Modification dated 19 June 1940, with respect to the
Hawar group of islands and surrounding area.
In view of Your Highness's wishes in this regard,
the Company has decided to relinquish, and hereby does
relinquish, its rights under said Mining Lease, as
amended, with respect to all that part of Your Highness's
domains which lies (1) to the east of a straight line with
a true azimuth of 211° and passing through the point
50° 44' 18" East Longitude and 25° 45' 52" North Latitude,
and (2) to the south of 29° 45' 52" North Latitude. For
Your Highness's convenience an illustrative map (no.
A-879-0) is attached to this letter.
The Company agrees that, from the date of Your
Highness's acceptance, the part of Your Highness's
domains described above shall be excluded from the area
specified in Article 2 of the Deed of Further Modification,
and from the Mining Lease as amended.
The Company will appreciate Your Highness kindly
indicating acceptance upon the attached duplicate of this
letter and returning that duplicate to the Company.
