  • Dismissal, by the Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Shakhbut Bin Sultan Al Nahyan of the Jordanian school teachers he had employed. Bill Clark will go to Amman, on the Ruler's behalf, to find suitable replacements. Clark is also trying to persuade Sheikh Shakhbut to provide better accommodation for his school teachers (3)

  • Correspondence from the British Embassy, Amman, complaining that Clark did not keep them informed of his activities while he was visiting to recruit new teachers and that this caused some confusion and minor disruption. As an example of this, a note is included from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, regarding a claim for indemnity from an official who claims he was given an offer of employment from the Abu Dhabi Government which was not followed up. The file also includes a request to the Foreign Office for a visa for Hussein Sidqi Qasim, who has been appointed to the position of State Accountant for the Abu Dhabi Government (5)
