(EA 1948/2) RESTRICTED FOREIGN OFFICE, S.W.1. May 20, 1957. Dear Consulate General, Your telegram No. 9 of April 24, about Sheikh Hazza and his party. 2. When Sheikh Hazza passed through here on his way to New York, he said that he hoped to spend a few days in London on his return. If he still intends to do so, we should be glad to have early notice of his arrival and requirements. As the visit will be private Her Majesty's Government will of course be unable to pay for the accommodation of the party, but for your own information we hope that Irag Petroleum Company might do so. We would like to ensure that all arrangements are completed beforehand and that the party is given every assistance by us and the Iraq Petroleum Company. We are sending a copy of this letter to Bahrain and Dubai. Yours ever, EASTERN DEPARTMENT British Consulate General, New York.
