  • Departure of C G Pelham as ambassador and his farewell talk with King Saud Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud. They discussed: the Buraimi Arbitration Agreement; Saudi Arabia's relations with Britain and the West; and the Baghdad Pact. It also contains the text of an address by King Saud (1-2)
  • Conversations between C A E Shuckburgh and the Saudi Ambassador on his return from Cairo. They discussed: the Egyptian attitude to the Baghdad Pact; the banishment of St John Philby; the state of Anglo-Saudi relations; and the situation between the Sultan of Muscat and the Imam of Oman. It also contains an aide memoire handed to the Ambassador (3, 8-9)
  • Discussions involving the Political Resident in the Persian Gulf B A B Burrows, the Saudi Deputy Foreign Minister Yusef Yasin, and King Saud. They discussed: the Buraimi Arbitration Agreement; the Bahrain seabed frontier; islands claimed by Kuwait and Saudi Arabia; and the Kuwait-Saudi Neutral Zone.
