Jurisdiction over the Trucial Oman Levies
FO 371/109928 1954Description
This file contains correspondence relating to:
- Sultan Saeed Bin Taimur's preference that Britain exercise jurisdiction over the Trucial Oman Levies while in his territory, but does not wish this cession of jurisdiction to be publicly known (1)
- Discussion of methods of taking over jurisdiction over Trucial Oman Levies while in Muscat, including an examination of the Aden Protectorate Levy Ordinance. It is suggested that the best method is to amend the Trucial States Order in Council. The Sultan's approval was requested and granted, subject to two provisos (2-5)
