- Proposed legal action against M Buckmaster by R A J Lippett and Abdul Rahman Khalifa, both for defamation of character. Mr Mason thinks this is a response to the Ruler of Sharjah's complaint about Khalifa's heavy drinking (1)
- Suspicion that Lippett will try to visit Sharjah in a private capacity without a valid visa (2)
- Letter from Golden Valley Colours Limited to C M Pirie-Gordon expressing disappointment at not being able to renew mining concessions in Sharjah (3)
- Golden Valley Company's problems in Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah due to slow concession payments. Sheikh Shakhbut Bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Saqr Bin Sultan Al Qasimi have invoked Britain's help in retrieving moneys owed. Copies of the original agreements are enclosed (4-5)
