1. I submit Muscat telegrams 7, 9 and 10 of 7 January. Telegram
10 gives the latest state of programme : all seems well, though
calls on the Sultan and other senior Ministers have yet to be
confirmed. I submit personality notes on Sayyid Faher, Sayyid
Fahad, Qais Zawawi and Shaikh Hamond al Harhty (on whom there
are tentative arrangements for Mr Luce to call).

2. The agenda (telegram 7) is much as expected. We shall be
submitting a brief on PDRY (item 4 in the Political Review) as
soon as possible.

3. Telegram 9 is a commentary on brief number 1. Mr Slater has
also commented on the briefing on documents in connection with
the Saudi/Oman border: I shall submit on this separately.
