Sir, with reference to your letter No.1.3407/248/ 91 of the 1st April, 1922, regarding the possibility of the Ratification by King Hussein of the Treaty signed by Colonel Lawrence and the Emir Abdulla, I am directed by lir. Secretary Churchill to state for the information of the Larquess Curzon of Kedleston, that Mr. Churchill acquieses in the proposal to authorise the deletion of the latter half of Article 5 of this Treaty if by so doing, His Majesty's Representative at Jeddah is able to secure King Hussein's ratification of the document.
